All major blogs are using FeedBurner to record their RSS feed because it is a free system with many features that you cannot disable. FeedBurner provides statistics, feed optimization options, feed publishing options, and more. The integration of FeedBurner and Google Analytics is a must for all WordPress blogs. In this article, we will tell you how you can set up your WordPress blog with FeedBurner and use it to take your blog to the next level.
Why is FeedBurner important to bloggers?
FeedBurner is a free service loaded with options that you don't get with the default WordPress feed. Some features include:
Stats about your Feedburnur Users so you can know And review and optimize your blog posts. Provide your traffic with many subscription options, such as email and other feed readers (Netvibes, Google, etc.). Social test option (subscriber count) to customize your feed. Once you publish your posts to ping various font reading services in way of modifying posts, branding and more. Google Adsense to earn more for your RSS feed and more ...
With a short list of features, you can see that this is a must for all blogs. Now we can advance in the configuration of the FeedBurner account.
Set up your FeedBurner for WordPress feeds
First of all, you must have a Google account (any Gmail account will work). Visit FeedBurner's Services page to begin this process.
In the first step, you will write a link to your WordPress blog feed. If you have an SEO friendly WordPress URL structure, your feed link should be like yourdomain.com/feed/
In step 2, you will choose the title of your feed and the address of your feed. It is recommended to keep the title of your feed similar to your blog. It is best to keep the address of your feed short and memorable.
Technically, your feeds are done, so you don't need to take any steps. Click skip administration directly.
You'll see a page with links to tons of blogging platforms. Ignore them all, as we will tell you again later in this article. Just click on the Optim tab as seen in the image below.
In step 5, we will work to optimize your WordPress blog feed. You need to make sure you have browser friendly options turned on, smart power on and flare power on. You can activate other services if you wish, but these 3 services must be one. BrowserFriendly greatly simplifies membership. SmartFeed ensures maximum compatibility with all power reader applications. FeedFlare adds interactivity to the post by adding this and other sharing options.
In step 6, we will see all the promotional options of the feed. You must allow email subscription to your site because there are users who prefer to receive email updates instead of using Google Reader. Pingshot must be activated because it notifies you of the services when you publish. The feedcount widget allows you to display your customer number. It is one of the best methods of social proof. The Awareness API is useful when you're trying to include yourself on sites like BuySellAds because they can easily extract your customer numbers. There are other exercise options like Headline Animator, BuzzBoost that you can activate if you want.
Monetizing your feed is another good feature of FeedBurner, other than that it only allows you to use Google Adsense. Sign up with Google Adsense and follow its instructions.
Once you have taken all of the above steps, you can click on the Analysis tab. You will most likely see a screen below because the numbers have not been recorded. Give it for 24 hours and you will start to see numbers there. Use customer numbers, clicks, and other helpful information to enhance your blog. See what your users like and dislike with this step, and then focus on the posts they like and enjoy.
Integrate FeedBurner into WordPress
Although you configured your feed with FeedBurner in the previous steps, you still haven't really integrated it with WordPress. The first thing you want to do is reduce your diet and make it one. You must create a redirect, so when users try to visit yourdomain.com/feed/, they are redirected to your FeedBurner feed page. In this way, you can track subscribers on your blog.
There is a plugin called FD FeedBurner that allows you to easily create this redirect. You can also redirect your feed using the .htaccess file, but we will not share that method as it is not something we recommend for beginners.
Most WordPress themes now come with feedburner integration like Headburn theme,
